Any type of establishment wanting to manufacture, sell or deal with alcoholic beverages.
 
Tempe City Code §4-1 to §4-9
 
Application fee $500, One-time issuance fee $200, License fee $300 - $1,200
 

Application packet must contain the following:

  • State of Arizona liquor license application

  • City of Tempe liquor license application (processing takes approximately 60 days)

All individuals listed as owners on the State of Arizona liquor application must submit fingerprints to the Tempe Police Department

Application packet is processed by:

                  1.      Building Safety
                  2.      Development Services
                  3.      Fire Prevention
                  4.      Police Department
                  5.      Maricopa County Health Department

A public hearing notice is posted at the business location for 20 days

City Council public hearing is held

City Council recommendation is forwarded to the State Department of Liquor Licenses and Control

Tempe liquor license is issued after the State Department of Liquor Licenses and Control issues their liquor license

A sales tax license is also required
