FINE PAYMENT

With a major credit/debit card you can pay your fine or make payments on your case by telephone.  You will need your case number or complaint number to access your payment information.

To pay a fine by mail, be sure to enclose a copy of the citation and write the case number or complaint number on your check.  Send your payment to the following address:

Payment Drop Box - There are two payment drop boxes for court fines. One is located on the north side of 5th Street directly in front of the court. The other box is located in the parking lot west of City Hall (upside down pyramid).

Listed below are VIOLATION CODES with fine amounts. Mandatory State surcharges (84%) are included. Violations in Blue  indicates the violation is eligible for the Defensive Driving Program or the Bicycle Diversion Class if cited while riding a bicycle. If payment is not received by the court date provided on your ticket, there will be a $20.00 Court Fee per case, plus an additional $50.00 on each civil charge which is included in the Default Amount column below.

IMPORTANT NOTICE for individuals cited for A.R.S. 28-645A3A – Red Light Violation & A.R.S. 28-647.1 – Flashing Red Stop Signal: Persons found responsible or entering a plea of responsible, will be ordered by the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) to attend and successfully complete Traffic Survival School (TSS).  If you are eligible for defensive driving school and complete the class, the violation will be dismissed and you will not be subject to the requirement to attend a TSS class by the MVD.

A.R.S. 28-2532A – No Vehicle Registration. Mail or fax proof of current registration for reduced fine of $149.00.  Payment must be received by your court date.

A.R.S. 28-3169A – No Driver License in Possession. Dismissed upon proof of driver license valid on the date and time of the violation. 

A.R.S. 28-907A – Child Passenger Restraint.  If you have been cited for “failure to use,” the fine is $149.00.  However, upon completion of a 1 hour course on child safety, offered through St. Luke’s Hospital, the fine will be reduced to $0.00 and you may receive a free child restraint system.  For information, call 480-350-8376.  If you have been cited for “failure to equip”, the fine is $149.00. However, with a plea of responsible and proof of purchase of an acceptable child restraint system the fine will be reduced to $0.00.

 A.R.S. 28-4135A – No Mandatory Insurance. Fine ranges from $946.00 to $1846.00. If you present proof of purchase of a 6 month current insurance policy the fine may be reduced to $149.00. 

A.R.S. 28-4135B & C – No Proof of Insurance. Fine ranges from $946.00 to $1846.00. If you mail or fax proof showing that the vehicle involved was insured on the DATE and TIME the complaint was issued, the charge will be dismissed. If you present proof of purchase of a 6 month current insurance policy the fine may be reduced to $149.00. If you are unable to provide proof of insurance for the DATE and TIME the complaint was issued, you must come to court on or within 10 days prior to your court date.

Note:  More than three (3) violations of  TCC 22-42, 22-43B, 22-44, 
22-47, 22-52 or 22-53  in any consecutive twelve (12) month period 
will carry a minimum fine of $500.00 and a maximum fine of $2,500.00.

· A statutory $20.00 court fee per case shall be imposed if the entire fine amount is 
  not paid or bail posted on or before the appearance date on your complaint.  
  Appearance by mail will be deemed complete upon receipt by the court.
· Failure to pay or appear in court on the date cited on your complaint will result 
  in a default judgment being entered against you and an additional monetary penalty 
  of $50.00 per violation added to your case.
