Neighborhood Permit Parking

Vehicle Permits: Each resident of the household within the residential permit parking area is entitled to a vehicle permit for their vehicle. Proof of residency and the vehicle registration are required for each resident applying for a permit. Examples of proof of residency include a rental lease, driver's license with current address or utility bill. Each household within the residential permit parking area is entitled to one free permit per year. Each additional permit issued is $3 each per calendar year. On July 1, the fee is pro-rated to $1.50 for the remainder of the calendar year. The vehicle permit should be placed on the driver's side rear bumper of the vehicle. The permit may also be placed in the lower driver's side corner of the rear window if the owner wishes or if the vehicle doe snot have a rear bumper.  Visit Public Works Administration to get a permit at 200 East Fifth Street, Second Floor, Tempe.

Visitor's Pass: Every household within the residential permit parking area is entitled to one visitor’s pass placard to be used for short-term visitors to the residence. There is no charge for the visitor’s pass. The placard is to be placed on the driver’s side dash board of the visitor’s car. If the visitor’s pass is lost, damaged, or stolen, please call the Transportation Division at the number below and it will be replaced. For long-term guests staying at the household, a temporary parking permit can be issued. You will need to provide the license plate number and make and model of the visiting vehicle. For multiple guests or large gatherings, please contact the Transportation Division two days in advance if possible with the date, time, and number of cars you expect. A written request will be made on your behalf to the Police Department for a waiver of the parking restrictions in your area for the date and time your specify.
